Welcome to my woodturning portfolio. Pictured in this section are some of the pieces I have made over the last forteen years. I love turning because it offers a tactile and immediate way to experiment with form. The tools are simple and process is fluid. Unlike my furniture work, most of my turning is basically unplanned. I let the shape, size, color, and grain suggest a form to me as the wood spins on the lathe. It is a pleasure to create functional household objects that have a beauty that extends beyond their functionality.
